Arakkonam

Arakkonam sits at the end of the Chennai–Arakkonam suburban railway line and is a junction on the main line towards Katpadi and Bengaluru, so daily rail travel to Chennai is an established routine for many residents.

The town is part of Ranipet district, which was formed out of Vellore district in 2019.
